About Beam
Since 2017, we’ve presented 16 exhibitions in our space in Nottingham, and staged shows in Venice, Pisa, Manchester and Bordeaux. We’ve presented exceptional artists who have long and celebrated careers from Nottingham to Los Angeles, Lisbon to Berlin. We’ve put historically important artists back on the map and championed a new, vibrant generation.
We’ve hosted over 20 talks with artists, including events at The Royal Academy of Arts London, Saatchi Gallery, Venice Biennale, The Photographer’s Gallery, London, Nottingham Contemporary and Lakeside Arts. We’ve published 30 books, including 10 monographs on major artists reflecting our commitment to sharing the work of great artists with a wider audience.
None of this is possible without the support of our community – both locally and internationally – whether collectors, philanthropists, book-buyers or simply people who come to enjoy our books and exhibitions over a coffee with friends and family.
Our commitment to publishing books on artists means we have the opportunity to research an artist’s work over many months, sometimes years. This provides a level of access and insight that few galleries achieve, and even fewer outside of London. As a result, we’re able to select the best work available for our customers or identify pieces that fit your brief within the artist’s back catalogue.
Everyone wants something different from an artwork – something beautiful to inspire at work or at home, perhaps a piece to fit a particular interior scheme or to delve deep into the history and philosophy of an artist. Some of our artists are well-known, some more ‘under the radar’, others simply in the early stages of their career. No matter what your motivation or interest, Beam will find great work, with great history, by great artists.
